How it Works
To view pictures of the auctions, as well as descriptions, click on the “Current Auction” button and pick a particular category (from the category dropdown bar). i.e.: ALL ITEMS, BATTERIES, DONATED VEHICLES, or TIRES. You may also use the search feature to help find a specific vehicle.
Before you can bid, you must register to obtain an active bidder number. You can do so by clicking on “Register to Bid” button
Fill out all the appropriate information. All fields marked with an asterisk are required to be filled out in order to complete the process.
Once all the registration information has been entered and submitted, you will be instantly emailed an active bidder number.
Click on “Current Auction “ button.
Find the item you want to bid on in any of the allotted categories (i.e.: ALL ITEMS , BATTERIES, DONATED VEHICLES, or TIRES) and enter amount in the ‘Your Bid’ space.
You may also enter an amount in the ‘Your Maximum’ space. This feature allows you to put in the maximum amount you are willing to bid on an item, without bidding that specific amount right away. The computer will automatically enter the lowest acceptable amount to outbid the competition all the way up to your maximum bid.
Once you have entered your desired bid into the ‘Your Bid’ and/or ‘Your Maximum’ space, now scroll down to the bottom of the page, enter the bidder number which was emailed to you, along with your password and click the ‘submit bids’ tab.
This will bring you to a second page that lets you review the details of the item(s) you bid on along with your specific bid(s). If you are satisfied with, then click ‘submit bids’. If for some reason you would not like to finalize your bid, you can click ‘Cancel bid(s) and return to previous screen’ to revise your bidding.
You are responsible for checking to see if you are, indeed, the high bidder on your item(s). In addition to checking item after the bidding ends, the winning bidder will also be notified via email. You must then pay for and pick up the item(s) from our facility at 2576 Doswell Avenue. St. Paul, MN. 55108. This must be done by the following day, or a $25/day storage fee will be incurred.
It is a good idea to frequently refresh the bidding page, to keep track of the all the current bidding which takes place. If you are outbid, you can bid again on that item as many times as you would like, in order to win the auction.
NOTE: If a bid is made within the final minute of that item closing, that item’s closing time will be extended an additional TWO minutes, in order to ensure others get a chance to bid. The items closing time will continue to be extended in this format, until no bids are made in the final minute.
If an item is bid on within the last minute and that items closing time is extend, this DOES NOT mean that the following items’ bid times will extend.
ALL ITEMS CLOSING TIMES WILL REMAIN AS POSTED UNLESS THAT SPECIFIC ITEM HAS BEEN BID ON WITHIN THE LAST MINUTE OF ITS CLOSING TIME, IN THAT CASE, ITS CLOSING TIME WILL BE EXTENDED IN THE SAME MANNER AS PREVIOUSLY DISCRIBED.
How the auction’s staggered ending works:
An example for the auction’s staggered ending and closing, assuming there are 60 items in the auction:
-
@ 8:00PM Item 1 closes: If a bid has been made within the final minute before the item closes, item 1 will remain open for an additional 2 minutes . This ensures that other bidders will get a chance to bid. This cycle will continue until no bids are made in the final minute.
-
@ 8:01PM Item 2 closes: This item may be extended in the same manner as item number 1 above.
-
@ 8:02PM Item 3 closes: This item may be extended in the same manner as item number 1 above.
-
FINALLY @ 8:59PM Item 60 closes: This item may be extended in the same manner as item 1 above. The extension cycle continues until all items have closed.
